JURUPA VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- A 3-year-old Chihuahua mix who was rescued from a Jurupa Valley dumpster in September has found a new home.

Oscar was discovered at the bottom of a trash bin in the 6000 block of Mission Boulevard. He was taken to the Western Riverside County Animal Shelter, where vets said he had a high temperature but was in overall good condition.

Riverside County Animal Services said they fielded more than 100 calls and emails from people wanting to adopt Oscar. The sweet pup ended up being adopted by Temecula resident Victor Rocha.

A $2,000 reward was offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever abandoned the dog. So far, no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to email Riverside County Animal Services at shelterinfo@rcdas.org.
