SILVER LAKE, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Police are investigating a murder at a construction site in Silver Lake in which the victim was killed with a hammer.



The incident happened on the 4200 block of Burns Avenue on Thursday at about 1:45 p.m.



Police say it started with an argument between an ex-worker and another worker, and it escalated to the ex-worker allegedly attacking the other man with a hammer.



The victim, identified as 20-year-old Louis Sanchez of Los Angeles, was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital.



The suspect, 20-year-old Christian Valdez, was taken into custody nearby and is being held on $1 million bail.



It is unknown what started the argument.
