Karl Schmid
Australian born, Karl Schmid has been busy on American, Canadian, British and Australian televisions for the last 13 years.

At ABC7, Karl has been a regular contributor since 2013, joining the team as a correspondent and producer on the then-weekly and syndicated "On The Red Carpet."

Since then, Karl has become known to the SoCal audience through ABC7. Whether it be from "On The Red Carpet," or "RAMS Primetime Saturday Night," to being the face of ABC7's informative SoCal Spotlight segments to contributing to Eyewitness News stories and our coverage of L.A. Pride, Karl's unmistakable accent and passion to entertain and inform makes him a proud member of the ABC7 family.

Outside of ABC7, Karl has hosted "The Royal Wedding live from London" for TLC, taken television viewers on an emotional journey as the host of Logo's "Operation Vacation" for two seasons and provided entertainment and Hollywood news for British morning television.

A passionate activist in the fight against HIV stigma, Schmid launched +Life in 2019 online to help foster a new conversation around what it means for people living with HIV and to tackle the stigma still associated with the virus. +Life will soon be part of Localish TV on the newly launched Localish TV network.
