SEAL BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- A plan to trap and kill coyotes in Seal Beach is apparently working.
Three coyotes have already been trapped and killed during the first week of the city's removal program. The program will continue for another three weeks.
The City Council had voted on Sept. 22 to have two 2-week trials on the coyote program.
Long Beach Animal Care Services, the trapping company and city staff will then evaluate the area to determine if more trapping is needed.
The program came about after residents complained that coyotes were killing their pets.
