"It's being able to walk through life eager and open to self-improvement, and that what is going to best help you evolve, because that's really why we're here -- to evolve as human beings," Winfrey said to the graduates.
Winfrey told the new graduates to follow their hearts in choosing what to do after college.
Some of the students continued Stanford's tradition of the 'wacky walk', wearing costumes, carrying balloons and thanking their parents with signs before the ceremony.
