Eaton, Palisades fires continue burning as new wildfires erupts

Fuel shortages are expected in Las Vegas due to issues related to the Los Angeles fires.

The Kinder Morgan Pipeline, which is between the two areas, has been affected by the wildfires and power line de-energizations, according to officials.

This pipeline accounts for approximately 95% of the petroleum products used in the Vegas metropolitan area.

Though it isn't expected to meet the fuel consumption rates of the area, a plan is in place to transport fuel to Las Vegas.

Officials expect the power de-energization issues to continue through Sunday.

Row upon row of burned homes were visible from the helicopter as firefighters continued to contend with the blaze, which had burned 13,690 acres and was 3% contained as of Friday morning.

Nearly 1,000 structures have been destroyed in the fire, one of several wildfires burning in Southern California. Fire officials said approximately 7,801 structures were believed to be damaged or destroyed.

Approximately 7,081 structures are believed to have been damaged or destroyed by the Eaton Fire, an estimate that officials reached based on aerial imagery of the destruction left behind.

That figure would make the blaze, which ravaged the Altadena and Pasadena areas, the most destructive fire in Los Angeles and the second most destructive in California, behind the 2018 Camp Fire.

The fire has burned 13,690 acres and is only 3% contained.

ABC7's over-the-air signal is having issues Friday morning as the Eaton Fire burned around the Mount Wilson Observatory and communication towers in the Angeles National Forest.
